Stephanie attended University of Guelph for 2 years of her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science before gaining admittance to Ontario Veterinary College in fall 1999.  She graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in spring of 2004 and worked as a mixed animal practitioner in rural Ontario for 4 months before moving to British Columbia with her husband, Chad.  She lived and worked on Bowen Island for a few months, before coming to Capilano Pet Hospital in early 2005.

Stephanie loves the outdoors, and she and her husband enjoy skiing, hiking, biking, running and playing hockey.   They are travel enthusiasts and recently backpacked around the world for a year in 2009, visiting 26 countries.  They participated in veterinary volunteer and rescue projects in Mexico, Costa Rica and Botswana.      

Dr. Thompson is on maternity leave until 2012.
